On the road

naI haven't been to Jim Corbett but the experiences Anunay talks about makes me wish for a trip to the exquisite national park.

260 kilometres from Delhi, it took 6 hours for them to reach the National park. They left at around 7: 30 pm and reached at around 2 am. Anunay has been to the park twice, the co-incidence being, they got the same hotel both the times which was decently priced. We suggest you to make bookings for your stay before you reach since it is quite difficult to find a place to stay in the last minute. There are many wings which offer accommodation with varying prices. Try not to go according to the GPS as it indicates the end of the road way before reaching the destination. It is best to ask the locals around for proper directions into the area.

As they drove around at 2 am in the night inside the jungle, they came across what looked like a really huge statue of an Elephant. Fascinated, they got off the car and went closer. It was a real Elephant! (Blame it on the herbs!)

Since they reached at 2 am, it was impossible to find a decent food joint. Luckily, they saw some stalls around the bus stand where they managed to find a sweet shop which remains open all night. The next morning, they took a Jeep safari into the forest. As thrilling as it is to just anticipate seeing wild animals like tigers and Jackals, it is best to venture out into the forest with proper guides before sunrise to catch hold of wildlife. All they came across were some deer and snakes. After going back from the Safari, the food that they missed out at night was delicious. They went back taking in the closeness to nature with bird songs echoing in their ears.

Try to take every experience from this wild home, some of them being the Corbett falls, the Safari and the rest houses with a beautiful view of the valley. It'll be like watching National Geographic, LIVE!
