I never believed in fairy tales, nor did I believed in contests that took you out on an international trip. But, looks like my stars were in place and destiny wanted to give me something I never dreamt or thought of. My friend entered a contest (which neither she remembered nor us) from Breezer India, where she had posted a Dubsmash video and she WON. Breezer India wanted her to take three of friends with her to Brussels, Belgium (Also, Tomorrowland). And there I was in Brussels :)
This was my first flight experience (I have a fear of flying). The journey from Delhi till Brussels was not easy for me. My connecting flight from Abu Dhabi was overbooked and I was given a different route (Delhi-Abu Dhabi-Rome-Brussels). With no phone, no bag and no friends, I was all by myself at Abu Dhabi International Airport waiting for my next flight. After 4 hours my journey again started and I finally reached Brussels 12 hours after my friends. Wait, this is not the end of my sad story, the baggage counter informed me that my stuff is still in Abu Dhabi and they can only deliver it to me the next day. With a heavy heart, I left the airport and reached my hotel where my amigos were waiting for me.
Day 1 – This day was all about exploring nearby areas, as we didn't had a lot of time left for the day. We took a tram and went to explore the most beautiful part of the city - The Grand Place. After a long stroll, we pampered ourselves with some Belgian Beer, Waffles, and Chocolate.
Day 2 – Trust me, I have never seen anything bigger than this in my entire life - The Tomorrowland Music Festival. The huge huge huge set up had people all over from all countries of the world. Some came here to live their dream, some were regulars, and some like us got this opportunity without dreaming for it. I was a little upset coz my baggage was still not there, but then David Guetta happened and I am still living in his afterglow.
Day 3 – The beautiful city of Brussels was waiting for us to explore (yes, my baggage arrived). This day was all about shopping, exploring the city, getting clicked and eating and drinking stuff that we don't get in our Motherland.
Day 4 – Tomorrowland again it was.
Day 5 – Rain ruined this day a little, but this was our last day in Brussels and we wanted to make the most of it. After getting all decked up and prepared to face the rain, we stepped out of the hotel and started our day with a Belgian Beer. The Hop-On Hop-Off bus is one of the best ways to explore the city, but if you wish, you can also walk. The Cobblestoned streets are welcoming and people are friendly. The Grand Place has a number of shops from where you can buy some good souvenirs and chocolates for people waiting back home.
Now I participate in every single contest I see online :)
