This was my 2nd experience at Rishikesh for camping. About 3 months back, I used to think of Rishikesh as a spiritual place. However, when I reached Rishikesh I came to know that it is also a major adventure hub in North India. Being an adventure lover, I always like to try new things. In my previous visit to Rishikesh, I tried rafting and beach camping for the first time.

When I first visited Rishikesh in June' 2015, I thought I would definitely come back soon to this place to try something new. I never knew it would be so soon. One of my friend named Sunny and I decided to plan this short weekend trip. I would not call it as a completely adventure trip as rafting is closed in Rishikesh in the months of July, August and almost half of September.
We went to Rishikesh by our own vehicle, which helped us to make our trip cost effective. One more thing I like about going by your own vehicle is that you can stop anywhere you like.
Expenses of our Trip (3 people)
- Camping – Rs.1250 per person (Parking, Fooding, Lodging, Snacks all Inclusive)
- Fuel Cost – Rs.1500 total (To and fro from Meerut to Rishikesh)
- Shopping and Other Expenses – Rs.2000 per person
Why do I love camps in Rishikesh ?
- It lets me have a relaxed environment away from the normal routine life.
- These camps are anytime better than living in a Hotel as they have buffet system for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
- You can have Veg and/or Non-Veg food.
- These camps provide ample amount of Snacks.
- Makes me feel so good being so close to the nature.
- Its might sound funny but I like that there are no mobile signals in the Camps and I like it. Its so different being able to cut yourself from your social circle and family for 1 single day.
Suggestions for camping
- You do not need to carry any eatables as you get a lot to eat there.
- Call your loved ones and friends in Rishikesh City only, as you would not get any signals on your Mobile Phone once you enter a camp.
- Don't expect it to be a 5 star Hotel, If you love water, mountains and nature you will love Camping too.
