LAS VEGAS. The name is enough to give me goosebumps. It is a different world in itself. The charm of the place stays with you even if you try to forget it. It has an addictive aura to it, and is a universal place for both- the young and the old. Its a happy place, like a 24x7 party going on, where all you see is people with smiles on their faces, enjoying their hearts out, cheering, celebrating life to the fullest. There are no barriers to the way people celebrate as you get to see the most bizarre people ever, doing all sorts of stuff to attract attention and get you involved in their celebration.
Vegas has one of the most posh hotels in the world and staying in them is an experience in itself, but one cannot afford to stay in those closed doors and not explore the place. The only way to enjoy Vegas is the Strip. Always active and alive, it is a walkway full of people keeping the place abuzz with various activities, be it any time of the day. During the day time, all you need is a bottle of water and proper walking shoes as it is a long stretch surrounded by hotels, and clubs on both the sides. A hop on- hop off bus service is another great way to go around too. A lot of other options can be explored like Gondola ride at the artificial Venice setup, view of Vegas from the Stratosphere tower, High roller ride, helicopter tours, etc.
The evening goes live with lights brighter than sunshine(the people being one of the biggest feature of the Strip). You can to pre- book tickets for various evening shows like Illusions by Jan Rouven (the one I saw), strip shows, Cirque du Soleil and Micheal Jackson ONE (two of the most sought after shows) to name a few. One of my favorite ones is the fountain show near Bellagio. The musical fountain is a 15 minute fab experience, and just next to it is the fire and water show (volcano show near The Mirage).
Coming to the people, Vegas has one of the most liveliest crowds I have ever seen. The young and the old, whether in groups, couples or single, just gel with the vibe. People from all parts of the world exchange pleasantries even if they didn't know each other(like they show in movies). The Mexicans, were notably the most cheerful of all, shouting "Viva Mexico" with beer in a hand and toy trumpets and their flags in the other. They were actually the party scene creators of the place. Dont be shocked if you see movie characters, cartoon characters or even famous celeb lookalikes on the streets, ready to get clicked with you for a few dollars !
Vegas, as pre-conceived by many, is more than just getting lucky at casinos or getting high in clubs. There is so much more to explore, a single article cannot fit all the experiences as its simply beyond words !
