We all have these instances in life where we plan a random trip and it turns out to be one of the most epic ones. This happened to me recently and I thought of sharing my experiences.
So it was like a week since i was back from my backpacking tour of south-east Tamil Nadu (Tamil nadu trip), it was a friend's birthday on October 30th .So we were looking for probably a weekend get away somewhere near Bangalore. Got this crazy idea of visiting Wayanad for a couple of days day and i had my friend Anjali(our usual travel expert) doing the awesome work of booking the resort (petals, Wayanad) for a comparatively lesser price and we thought to drive off till Wayanad in her awesome Chevrolet beat the very evening. So it had to be five of us for the trip.
We 4, (me,anjali, kiran and sweta) out of the 5 of us met up on Friday night for a movie (30th October) and decided to loaf around in the night, pick up a friend who was returning from Hyderabad (vignesh) at 2 in the night and then leave to wayanad, crazy enough idea in itself (courtesy anjali :p) . Our plan failed as vignesh got delayed and we ended up leaving Bangalore at 6 in the morning.
So finally we started off the journey. The unexpected journey was underway. Our resident f1 driver( Anajali Bansal) was on the wheels. We drove to mysore in a couple of hours. And from here is where the amazing part of the journey starts. We followed google maps to our resort. It took us through beautiful fields in kabini river basin and then entirely through forest region till our Kerela.
I thought this was truly awesome in itself and it cant better than above but no I was wrong. We reached Thariyode from where i resort was around 15 minutes and we got to see this view point.
This just left me like wow. I mean what a place, what a view. So we stopped by for a while, took few pics and left to our resort. So we reached our resort and even here the views were quite amazing. Especially the infinity pool and the sheer view of mountains from Thariyode region.
We entered our room and opened the curtains to the view. Just crazy and then just when i thought it could not get better it started drizzling and the whole place (Thariyode region) turns into some magical land. So the rest of the day loafed around, relaxed ,partied for the day and slept for the day.And me being myself i set the alarm at 6 45 am and got up to have a look at the mountains in the morning. The feeling and joy of being awestruck cant be expressed in words. It is to felt.

And even the next day,we drove back to Bangalore in rain. Such scenic is the beauty of the place that i wished i stayed and explored longer.
I know the whole trip just lasted more than a day and i had a very small glimpse of the magical place that is Theriyode, kalpetta, wayanad but the sheer view of the place made me pen down a story and i hope to come back and explore Wayanad more in future and maybe get back to Kerala on a longer trip in future. Looking forward to much more travel and more addition to my diary.
