
From Jorhat town, Assam, it is approx. 15 km to Ferry Ghat, Nimati. Shared cars are available. But hired vehicles will be comfortable.
Ferry will take 1.5 hours to reach other side of the river Brahmaputra, i.e. Majuli Island. Ferry charges are Rs 100.00 per head. One can book a whole ferry at a cost of Rs.3500.
From other side river bank it will take 15 minutes to Majuli town. You can stay there peacefully as homestay. Resorts, Cottages are there. Assam tourism provided comfortable Prashanti also available. One can accomodate in Ashram/ Satra too.
There are many Satra in Majuli governed by Satradhikar. Many students stay there to learn academic education through religious process. Many foreigners come here to learn Satriya dance.
The people of Majuli are very simple, love to provide services as you want. The historic RAAS LEELA is celebrated each year.
